Around the world in 388 days and 305 photos

Two years ago today, we left on our great adventure around the world. Before we boarded our flight to Honolulu, I took a picture of Amber in the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport, standing in front of an ‘Explore Minnesota!’ vending machine.  From that point on, nearly every day, I snapped photos of Amber standing, in roughly the same position, in front of various landmarks and sites that we saw on our travels. We called them our ‘Amber photos,’ as in “Would this be a good place to take an Amber photo?”…

Completely unique photos of churches

I got into a habit when we were walking around Italy, visiting a seemingly endless series of churches. I would take a few pictures and then, looking for some unique and new angle to photograph, I would say to myself, ‘What if I isolated the steeple of the church against the blue background of the sky? I’ll bet that would make a cool and interesting photo.’ I would take the picture and walk away, very satisfied with myself. “What a creative and innovative photographer you are, Jeremy!” I would think.…
